Application architect are the IT professionals who are responsible for the design, development and implementation of applications for computer systems in an organization. They direct the design and development of new applications from conception stage to completion and supervise the technical staff associated with the development of the project. Plus these professionals play a major role in the reduction of costs and shortening of development time and are often responsible for the actual architecture of software and applications.  

As per Michael Kirven, application architects are vital to a business organization since they are responsible for laying down the vision for future Web applications, plus express this vision with proof-of-concept applications.

As per Glassdoor, the average pay package for these professionals is roughly around 7.23 to 12.6 lakh per annum.
