Google Does Want People with High "Cognitive Ability"
In most cases, Google looks for candidates with cognitive abilities and skills to carry out any task from the simplest to the most complex.
Laszlo Bock exclaimed, "This looking for cognitive ability stems from wanting people who are going to reinvent the way their jobs are going to work rather than somebody who's going to come in and do what everybody else does. We recruit for aptitude, for the ability to learn new things and incorporate them."
Google Seeks Out People with "Grit"
For those who have grown up as war refugees, immigrants or minorities, grit has been part and parcel their life but what about others? Well that is what Google wants in their prospective employees.
As grit keeps you going when all else is gone, Google looks for candidates who can take the road, which none has taken and want them to build their  dream, risk and persevere.
