Myntra Creates 20,000 Temporary Jobs Ahead of Mega Fashion Sale

Myntra, the online fashion merchant of Walmart-backed Flipkart Group has created over 20,000 temporary jobs through its partner network. In addition to preparation for the 22nd edition of its flagship End of Reason Sale starting on May 31, the new hires will be deployed to support logistics, customer support and last mile delivery.

Approximately 22 percent of the recently hired team to Myntra's warehouses are women in roles such as sorting, grading and packing in fulfilment centres in major regions such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi. The company noted the geographic diversity of the expanded workforce and that the recruitment process draws from all regions of the country including from the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Odisha, Tripura, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The move is indicative of Myntra's operational ramp-u in advance of one of its largest sale events of the year. Therefore the company is trying to maintain customer demand and highlight and advertise inclusive hiring and regional representation.

“The creation of over 20,000 employment opportunities for the 22nd edition of EORS to meet the expected surge in demand is a testament to our ‘Customer First’ commitment, It is great to see a strong representation of women and the inclusion of people from diverse regions”, said Myntra’s Chief Human Resources Officer Govindraj M K.

Myntra’s most recent recruitment effort is set to be key for service delivery during the EORS. The sale will showcase an extensive portfolio of over 10,000 brands and four million styles, appealing to Myntra’s 70 million monthly active users.

The Bengaluru-based fashion e-commerce company confirmed that the upcoming edition would witness the debut of 300,000 new styles. The sale will also facilitate the launch of new collections in multiple categories by leading domestic and international brands.
