- Anthropic to appoint India head as Claude AI demand surges
- Plans to triple global workforce and grow AI team 5x by 2025
- India now second largest market for Claude AI
Anthropic, the AI startup backed by Google and Amazon, is ramping up hiring in India as part of a major global expansion. With growing demand for its Claude AI models, the company plans to appoint a country head in India and significantly expand its local presence.
India has quickly emerged as Claude AI’s second largest market, making up 7.2% of global usage. As international adoption soars, Anthropic confirmed it will triple its global workforce by 2025 and expand its applied AI team fivefold within this year alone.
The company is actively hiring across Asia-Pacific, including Australia, New Zealand, Korea, and Singapore, while also adding 100+ roles in Europe across Dublin, London, and Zurich.
Anthropic’s move comes as competition intensifies with OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google. The company now serves over 300,000 enterprise clients, a huge leap from just 1,000 two years ago.
Its Claude language models are known for their advanced reasoning and enterprise ready performance. With nearly 80% of usage now coming from outside the U.S., the company is betting big on emerging markets, especially India.
