
TCS Plans to Hire 50 Graduates for Its New Innovation Centre

- TCS launches its first AI-driven innovation centre in Singapore, marking its 40th anniversary in the country.
- The centre plans to recruit 50 local university graduates and collaborate with 50 SMEs, 10 start-ups, and all autonomous local universities within 12 months.
- The hub, part of TCS Pace global network, will focus on co-creating AI-powered solutions for real-world business challenges and aligns with Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0.
Indian IT consulting behemoth Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) plans to recruit 50 new local university graduates from various disciplines to augment its artificial intelligence (AI) innovation centre. It has already extended 25 offers and plans to extend another 25 offers to fresh graduates by the end of this year. The firm's current employee strength in Singapore stands at 6,600, it said.
The innovation centre, which was launched on Thursday (Jul 3), is housed at TCS' Asia-Pacific headquarters at Changi Business Park. The facility is one of the company's global innovation hubs, TCS Pace, with offices in cities across the globe such as London and New York. TCS would not disclose how much it had spent in setting up its newest innovation centre.
The new Singapore centre will delve into the use of AI and automation in key industries to drive productivity, maintain business resilience, and drive innovation", it announced in a press release.The centre's launch coincides with TCS' 40th anniversary in Singapore; it is TCS' first AI-driven innovation centre globally.
Speaking to the media, TCS indicated that the centre will engage with 50 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), 10 local start-ups, and all local autonomous universities in the next 12 months.

Addressing the inauguration, TCS Singapore country head Punit Agarwal stated that the centre will be highlighting support to SMEs in embracing digital technologies. It was also announced that this was the initial phase of establishing the research and innovation center. The second phase, an expansion of the existing facilities, will be inaugurated sometime next year.
"The facility will allow TCS clients and partners to collaborate closely with professionals in order to co-create, test, and build AI-powered solutions in response to real-world business issues, with a focus on innovation in both public services and industry sectors", said TCS.
Guest of honour at the event, Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan, explained that the launch of the innovation centre in Singapore is in line with National AI Strategy 2.0's aim, where the government aims to anchor AI strength in the Republic.
