Though India is improving still there are some stereotypes believed that women won't be able to justify their work and job, so they hardly allotted any senior positions. There are assumptions that women will not work as hard as their male counterpart and because of this reason has contributed to their less salary scale. The survey also revealed that only 10 percent of Indian women are employed at senior management positions.
Even a report by women's research group revealed that though women are in the highest paying jobs, still they make less than men. A book titled 'Women don't ask', the authors Linda Babcock and Sara Laschever mentioned that women often find it difficult to ask whether they want higher salaries or more help at home. Sometimes they don't even know that change is possible, they don't know that they can ask.
