But this era has been an eye opener for the men as women are equally competing with them in all fields and positions. Though women have become socially and economically independent there are still a few which is considered a taboo for the modern women.
It is very surprising to know that India stands in a lower position in terms of gender equality. Though we all think that India is far away from gender bias, the study revealed by Global Gender Gap Report of 2010 proves that India stands bottom in the list of countries when it comes to gender equality. They have conducted a study on countries like Brazil, Russia, India and China. The statistic of the study shows that the average annual income of an Indian working woman was less than one-third that of an Indian man. According to the study there is still a 41 percent gap between women and men in terms of economic participation and an 82 percent gap in terms of political empowerment.
