Marilee Jones, former dean of admission at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), had been with the institute for 28 years before the university realized that she had lied about her academic credentials. It was uncovered that she had never possessed the undergraduate or master’s degree that was mentioned in their resume.

3. Jaffrey Papows:

Jaffrey Papows, former president of IBM’s Lotus Development Corp. unit, was caught faking about his academic and military background. He had claimed that he was a pilot and a captain in the marines, and had got his PhD from Pepperdine University. Later it was discovered that he was a flight controller and a lieutenant in the marines, and had obtained his PhD from an unaccredited correspondence school.

In spite of this revelation, he retained his position with the company, but resigned the next year after being named in a sexual discrimination complaint, according to CNET News.
