Most Common Resume Lies Job Seekers Tell

Concealing criminal records: Job seekers understandably fear that their applications will be instantly rejected once recruiters find out that they have a criminal record. And to shadow this instance job seekers try to give a clear image by falsifying untrue information regardless to however big the crime was. Candidates should avoid these kind of instances and make themselves aware that this is the age of technology and nothing goes unnoticed nor can it be completely hidden.
With the internet being a powerful tool and social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter revealing too much about a candidate’s past. Recruiters can easily find out about such frauds by conducting a criminal background check.

Lying about qualification and/or professional license: When companies post job openings, they also provide job descriptions and basic requirements information like degree, experience and skill that the applicants must mention. To fulfill these eligibility criteria, job seekers try to forge and provide falsified academic degrees and lie in the resume to land up on a job. To add to that this forgery is not only limited to academic qualifications but in some cases even certifications and technical skills are faked to seek jobs.
Employers should make sure that they don’t hire dishonest candidates like these who falsify unjustified titles to his/her name. This is also a very important matter of concern because employers can be legally liable and may suffer financial penalty for incorrectly passing off employees as stated.
