India Inc to Create 1.6 Million Jobs in 2012

Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services sector remains as the one of the main job creator in India. The number of Indian internet users is estimated more than 100 million in India, the latest report of the Internet and Mobile Association of India reveals. NASSCOM expects Indian IT outsourcing industry to grow up to $225 billion by 2020. The growth of e-commerce market, the emergence of cloud computing and other software application field like mob apps are said to create more jobs in IT and IT enabled services sector. Employed a number of 2,102,421 people the sector is one of the largest employment generators in the Indian organized sector. Increasing number of rural BPOs will also help to create more openings in the IT & ITeS field.
Trade including Consumer Retail Services:
Expected Growth: 7.8 percent
Increasing middle and upper class consumer base will be generating a great opportunities in the trade sector. India’s tier-II and tier-III cities are expected to witness a remarkable progress in the trade and consumer retail service sectors. Entry of foreign players in the Indian market will also help India to create a considerable number of job opportunities. Online retailing is another contributor to the sector while it expected to reach $1.35 billion industry by 2015. According to the report by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), organized Indian retail sector is projected to grow up to $260 billion over the next decades.
