Poland may be one of the very few countries that managed to stay afloat and weather the financial meltdown relatively unharmed, and it is experiencing one of the best GDP growth rates among debt-hit Eurozone nations, yet, unemployment is a major issue in the nation.
Labor reforms that limits early retirement along with the high percentage of baby boom in the workforce, are cited as the two main reasons for high jobless rates in the country, said a report by OECD Economist Balazs Egert.
#12. Slovenia
Jobless Rate: 13.3 Percent
Most of the creamy layer of the Slovenian workforce is employed in the service sector, which was nearly wiped out by the recent financial crisis.
The country’s economic growth is presently on a backward slide and as of now, the signs are ominous and near future look bleak.
