Employers come up with question with a view that since you were in a job for a very long, you may be stuck in your ways and may not be open to new challenges. You will have to demonstrate your flexibility and adaptability as a counter to this question.

The possible answer to this question can be something like "Yes, I was in the same role for a long term, but my job description was the same all through my entire term in the organization. It evolved a lot over the period and I got an opportunity to learn new things. I was exposed to new technologies, plus was closely involved in the roll-out of several major initiatives by the company."
