Employer might be worried that you don't have what it takes or know enough to gain entry and hence come up with this question to test your capabilities.

You can counter to this question by stating that, I have prior experience of working within a similar field, plus have a strong grip over related subjects. Having carried out appropriate research about the role and the organization, I am convinced that I will be able to get up to speed very quickly and will be an asset to the company.
