Are You a First Time Manager? Good Luck!
2. Develop the habit of listening:
Listening to what your teammates or your seniors say, is one of the qualities of a good manager because, in today’s scenario the employees have developed a negative attitude towards the superiors as they complain that they are been ruled by their managers, they assign very hectic work, they don’t listen to what their teammates suggests etc. So, to avoid all these complains, try to listen to the suggestions given by your teammates at first, as it also motivates to bring out the hidden talent in them and then it is up to you whether to take up their suggestions or not. But keep in mind; if you don’t like any of your teammate’s suggestion don’t discourage them, instead you can ask them to think on their suggestion once again so that they can make it more effectively.
3. Be friendly with them but not a friend:
It is always necessary to maintain a friendly relationship with your teammates as it will help you to co-ordinate in a better way with your teammates. But at the same time, try not to get too close with them as it can create problem for you in the future because you may find it hard to take difficult steps against them if any such circumstances occur and also you may find it difficult to assign them to finish the work on a particular deadline.
