Lack of preparation for the interview

Making an excellent impression over the phone might be of no use if you are not prepared for the interview. Most people lack the qualities that the employers are looking for in a candidate and turn out to be disappointing. Poor preparation includes a lazy attitude towards researching about the company which the interviewer can quickly sense. There should always be an emphasis put on your areas of research about the company and you must be armed with a lot of knowledge in order to answer questions rightly.  

Unprofessional attire

Your interview attire always judges your personality and often makes the first impression on an employer. If you are not in presentable attire or something seemingly improper, the interviewer will find out about the casual attitude towards the interview. Always aim at looking your best in crisp and clean business attire. Women must avoid wearing loud colors, excess makeup and unnecessary accessories. Inappropriate way of dressing can put off the recruiter as that shows lack of respect in following professional norms.
