46 Percent New Hires Fail Because of Attitudinal Deficits
In a recent interview conducted by Dan Schawbel of Forbes with Murphy, the author was of the opinion that the technical skills can be accessed much easier, but attitude gets more importance when it comes to the question of a new hire’s success or failure. In the recent times, many companies give prominence to test the candidates’ technical skills before hiring, but what they fail in is testing the candidates’ attitude before hiring them. This is the biggest mistake they make before hiring and they will be forced to pay for their mistake. So, to avoid such mistakes Mark suggested that the interviewers must examine whether the particular candidate has the qualities of learning new skills from the co-workers, does he have the ability to think innovatively, ability to cope up with the failure, is he able to learn from the criticisms and grasp the instructions given to him, does he have the collaborative nature etc. So, if you are able to examine all these qualities in the candidate, he can be productive at the workplace than anyone else.
