The need for office and administrative workers who are responsible for performing routine clerical and organizational tasks, especially professionals such as data entry clerks, are expected to die out in the coming future. The technological advancements, operational efficiency, increased productivity, as well as the ease of access to large caches of data via internet and other mediums have eliminated the requirement of large workforce to manage the organizational tasks. Also the employment opportunity that is expected to grow at a poultry rate, below the average growth rate of other professions (as per the BLS report) is not going to add to revive the fortunes of this line of work. Moreover, technologies such as voicemails, easy-to-access work processors and more have enabled individuals to carry out their own clerical tasks.
