As part of a significant thrust towards employment generation, the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with employment recruitment portal APNA to provide more than 10 lakh jobs per annum on the National Career Service (NCS) Portal.

The initiative seeks to improve job opportunities for young unemployed youths by linking them with job advertisements in metro and non-metro cities. APNA will make its recruitment services a part of the NCS Portal, as a result of which more job opportunities will be available to people in both formal and informal economies. The partnership will also strive to encourage equal employment opportunity for women and disabled persons.

APNA will tap into the NCS's large pool of candidates, while the Labour Ministry will facilitate a smooth integration process through a user-friendly online and offline interface. The initiative is in line with the NCS Portal's vision to develop a dynamic and diverse job ecosystem, enabling job seekers from across the diversity spectrum to find meaningful employment.

"This partnership is a big step towards closing the gap between jobs and skills, promoting economic development and skills growth in India", the ministry said.

Since its introduction in July 2015, the NCS Portal has been instrumental in linking job aspirants with employers. With more than 40 lakh registered employers and 4.40 crore vacancies brought on board so far, the platform now has nearly 10 lakh active job postings.

Union Minister of Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized the significance of the NCS Portal as a vital employment portal, connecting millions of job seekers with national and global opportunities.

The agreement comes after another recent MoU between the Labour Ministry and FoundIt (formerly Monster) that also has the goal of creating more than 10 lakh domestic job vacancies every year on the NCS Portal.
