A graphic designer / artist basically design graphic products for use in media and multi-media fields such as magazines, labels, advertising and signage. The typical employers in this field includes advertising agencies, signage companies, brand and identity agencies, large print houses, books / magazines / newspaper publishers, multi-media companies which includes gaming industry, web developers, television, in-house graphic design organizations and more.
Regrettably, the odds are not in favor of new grads in graphic design, irrespective of their proficiency. New grads have to put up with low starting salaries and super high unemployment rate, which is more than double the unemployment rate for all college grads with bachelor’s degree.
