Wipro Offers 8 percent of Salary Increment

Bangalore: An eight percent of the salary increment is offered by India’s No. 3 software services exporter, Wipro to its offshore employees whereas onsite employees are given a three percent, ET bureau reports. The company has given the promised salary increments from last month onwards which will be effected by its 138, 552 employees. Wipro has also winded up the first round of promotions. Compared to the last year gross utilization of 69.7 percent during the same period of time, the gross utilization for the quarter is reported to be 68.3 percent this year.

According to the executive VP and HR of Wipro, Pratik Kumar, the utilization will be in the same region for next few quarters. Adding to that he said, “...and in case there is a dip it is because of recruits from campus joining us for whom the training period is longer”.

Last week, company forecast demure IT services sales for this quarter after bringing out an 18 percent development in its quarterly profit which ended on June 30, 2012 and company could meet market expectations on increasing outsourcing work. While in the year-ago period, the net profit was increased by 24.37 percent to 10,619.6 Crore.
