The layoffs have not even spared the construction sector due to the economic slowdown. In many nations, including the economically powerful nations, people working in the construction sector are under the threat of losing the job. No doubt, this situation was expected in this sector because, the builders and their contractors hire workers for specific jobs that always last for a short period of time. Apart from that, even the weather is playing a crucial role when it comes to layoffs in this sector. This can be one reason because, if the season is not good for construction, there will be a lesser demand for construction professionals starting from the civil engineers till the people who work as laborers under a particular building contractor.

So, naturally employees in this sector who are laid off from their respective positions, have shown interest towards a new career in a different sector which they felt it is safe from getting laid off.
