State Grid Corporation of China is considered to be the world’s largest electric utilities company, that which transmits and distributes power in China. The State Grid Corporation of China has been headquartered in Xicheng District, Beijing and manages distribution from subsidiaries in the Northern part of China, Northeastern part of China, Eastern China, Middle China and Northwestern part of China. This firm was formed in the year 2002 and is under the ownership of the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
As per 2012, the employee count in this firm was around 1.5 million as per BBC ranking and by now it might have increased still more.
6. China National Petroleum Corporation [CNPC]:
CNPC is a state owned oil and gas corporation and is also considered as the largest integrated energy company in China. CNPC has been headquartered in Dongcheng district of Beijing. CNPC is like the parent of ‘Petro China’ which is considered to be the second largest firm in the world when it comes to market capitalization as per June 2010.
CNPC is the proud employer of around 1.6 million workforces as of 2012, reported by the BBC ranking.
