Cognizant is an American multinational that provides custom information technology, consulting and business process outsourcing services.

In 2011, the Fortune magazine named it as the third most admired IT services firm in the world after Accenture and IBM. And Cognizant has a workforce of 150,000 (2012).

Cognizant has always been a big recruiter in India and has been on the sourcing for talent in the top and Tier 1 schools during the last year. And the firm also has recruiting talent from Tier 2 institutions selectively.

IITs/IIMs usually get Consultant/Senior Consultant profiles, while the lower level schools are offered HR Executive, Process Associate or Executive-Recruitments.

The complaints that come across on the sites are lack of effective mentoring, less pay for fresher’s and the fast but slightly unstructured work process that the company follows.
