Relocation is Valuable for Business and Employees: Study

Bangalore:  Almost 70 percent of the companies claimed that relocation is tremendously beneficial in the area of talent achievement and retention, says a study conducted by TJinsite, the research and knowledge section of TimesJobs.com, reports the “Economic Times”. Moreover, the study noted that amongst the organizations with 500 or more employees surveyed this figure is quite higher, because with more number of employees in the organization, there is more employee adaptability and the cost of relocation is more easily absorbed.

During the study, the employers opined that business expansion and lack of talent are the main reasons behind employee’s relocation. In case of business expansion, relocating employees is the first choice of firms and is preferred over hiring new employees.  Nearly 55 percent of employees during the survey said that relocation of employees helps in resolving problems of skill shortages at particular locations. Besides that, 15 percent of the employers highlighted that it helps in positioning a person with known abilities and expertise into a specific function.
