1. Sonia Gandhi:

This Italian born Indian Politician is the wife of our Ex-Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi. After the assassination of her husband in 1991, she was invited by the Indian National Congress, but at that time she refused the offer. Later after 5 to 6 years i.e., in the year 1997 she agreed to join politics and in the year 1998 she was elected as the President of the Congress Party. Since from that year, she has been made in charge of all the Party activities. She has also served as the Chairman of the ruling UPA Government since the year 2004. After she was re-elected for the Presidential post for the 4th time, she is considered to be the longest serving President of the Congress party in its 125 years of history.
