Indian-Origin CEOs Who Sway the World

Rakesh Kapoor, Reckitt Benckiser Group:  Holding an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur, Bachelor's degree from BITS Pilani, Rakesh Kapoor joined Reckitt Benckiser group in 1987 as a regional (north) sales manager. Slowly and steadily climbed up the corporate ladder and became global marketing director in matter of ten years. Shashank Sinha, President for International Business at Godrej said, "What could have worked for him (Rakesh Kapoor) when Reckitt Board was choosing a successor to Brecht was his proven track record, his performance both in strategic and operational roles and his experience.." Rakesh Kapoor took over as CEO on September 1st 2011.

Indra Nooyi, Pepsi Co: Mrs Indra Nooyi was named President and CEO on October 1st 2006 and she assumed the role of Chairman on May 2nd 2007. She has directed the company's global strategy for more than a decade now. She began her career in india, where she was born and brought up; she held product manager position at Johnson and Jhonson and a textile firm, Mettur Beardsell Limited. She hold a list of qualification to her name. She holds a B.S. from Madras Christian College, an MBA from Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta and a Masters in Public and Private Management from Yale University.
