Indian Students Continue to Favor U.S. Universities
BANGALORE: Gaining educational knowledge is an essential part of our life. With growing globalization and a need to be on terms with global standards, the number of students going abroad for learning and gaining a foreign degree is increasing. There are several top countries for students to choose from, like U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, to name some.
U.S. Consul General, Jennifer A. McIntyre said that Indian students are in higher number in various educational institutions around and makes up for 12 percent of the total foreign student population in the U.S., reports The Hindu,
Among all these, U.S. emerges as the most preferred destination for Indian students for their higher studies. This is because; the U.S. is a very welcoming nation and also for varied opportunities offered to the students. With top universities and colleges in America, over one lakh Indian students are enrolled in various programs this year.
The rise of students in U.S. can be seen as an effect of growing strong relationship between the two countries, and a rising opportunities in the foreign land. There have been several steps towards strengthening ties in educational field with U.S. Consul recently in India visited many college varsities and highlighted many programs and forums which give ample of opportunities to Indian students to reach out to U.S. academia easily.
There has been a sharp rise in the number of students registering for tests like GRE, Toefel to gain entry to foreign universities. According to a report by the Council of Graduate Schools, non-profit organization, based in Washington, the numbers of Indian students applying to U.S. Universities are rising massively, and as such may leave China behind in terms of number of students coming to U.S. in coming years.
