India Records 14 Pct Rise in Online Recruitment: Monster Employment Index
Sanjay Modi, managing director, Monster.com said, “Monster Employment Index continues to trend upward charting significant growth on the year. While 2013 saw subdued hiring on the whole, 2014 appears to be more promising. IT, banking, healthcare have been some of the most steadily growing sectors."
Online demand saw further expansion with 11 out of the 13 occupation groups monitored by the Monster Employment Index. And professionals in senior management saw a growth of 50 percent between February 2013 and February 2014. When geographical terms were considered, online opportunities exceeded the last year’s level with 11 of the 13 cities in the Monster Employment Index. Among them were Bangalore with 36 percent rise registered the highest growth followed by Mumbai with 20 percent, Delhi-NCR by 13 percent, Hyderabad by 18 percent and Chennai by 8 percent also saw a surge in year-on-year recruitment activity. Other cities that saw a steep decline and record a negative annual growth even this month was Baroda with 7 percent decline and Coimbatore by 1 percent, but the rate of long-term growth, improved for both these cities.
