Bangalore: Finding a career is one of the most significant tasks of life. But identifying a fulfilling career is even more important because researchers identified job satisfaction as the most critical factor in overall life satisfaction. The books on how to find career happiness are shelved in the bookstores. Moreover, social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook are riffed with advices and corny quotes about finding job joy. Is quest for happiness the wisest career goal? Some evidence shows that our thirst to find happiness, especially during tough economic times, is actually bumming us out.
1.Happiness as a goal
Having a goal of happiness is more tangible goals than others. Happiness is a goal for everyone. Nobody ever sits down and says to themselves: "The one thing I don't want is to be happy". However, many people simply never achieve that desire and never catch hold of that prize at the end of the pursuit. But what exactly happiness is? What is it that people seek in career?
