A pharmacy technician is a health care worker who performs pharmacy related functions, generally working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Such technicians work in a variety of locations, usually in community/retail and hospital pharmacies. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the job in pharmacy technicians is expected to grow 20 percent by 2022.
Why in demand: The health care industry is growing much faster than others but it’s the aging population is set to keep further demand as these individuals will require more prescription drugs to keep them intact. So this profession is always set to be in high demand unless the aging population decreases.
