Glorified Lies That Recruiters Use To Derail Candidates
Bangalore: As kids, most of us had fun listening to glorified lies about the Easter Bunny or the tooth fairy. But, the scenario changes completely when we grow up. Small lies, especially those told by the recruiters can be extremely excruciating.
Here is a list of common lies that recruiters come up while screening for candidates, as listed by Matt Charney of Brazen Life.
1. “I’ll Keep You In Mind For Future Opportunities”
This is the biggest lie that 4 out of 5 job seekers confront on a regular basis. Though there are reasons to be optimistic about, in a majority of cases this statement literally means to say that, “any memory of you would be lost forever, the moment I hang up this phone”.
Instead of telling this lie, the best practice can be something like informing candidates about the future opportunities and offer a rationale explanation behind his rejection. Directing them to undergo relevant training can also be helpful.
