Bangalore: Welcome to the unfortunate reality folks! The tides have turned and India’s image as a hot destination for the finest talent from around the world has taken a beating, as reported by Malini Goyal of ET Bureau.
In the words of Rajeev Vasudeva, Managing Partner, Egon Zehnder International, which is an executive search firm, "Earlier, people wanted to relocate to India. But today, there is a higher degree of hesitancy", as stated by the Economic Times. And he added that there are many contributing factors behind this turnaround in the prospects.
As per K Sudarshan, Managing Partner (India), EMA Partners International, the first reason behind the turnaround in the fortunes of the country, is the unrealistic expectations among those who returned and their lack of intuition to realize that the country has traditionally been a not very favorable destination to live and work in. The sizzling development story of the country meant that the cracks in the job market were not visible.
