Gender Gap in Jobs and Wages, Still a Headache for Women Professionals
The study showed that, almost all the nations had made quite a good progress in closing the gender gap between men and women in the healthcare and educational sectors and only 60 percent of the nations managed to reduce the economic gender gap for a slight extent. Apart from that, 20 percent of the nations had advanced on a political level regarding the gender gap.

In this year, three of the top four nations namely, the United States, Japan and Germany made a good progress towards closing the gender gap between men and women at workplace. But these nations slipped when it came to overall ranking, that focused on the areas of health, education and politics.
The report also mentioned that, reducing the employment gap between men and women professionals has been an important driver of the European economic growth in the last decade.

Senior Director at the World Economic Forum, Saadia Zahidi opined that, though the progress regarding reducing the gender gap at workplace is very slow, we are seeing a trend as we are moving towards a positive direction.
