Gender Gap in Jobs and Wages, Still a Headache for Women Professionals
Bangalore: It seems like women are born to accept all the hardships in their professional life especially when it comes to job promotions and salaries till date. Yes, no matter women are closing the gender gap with the male counterparts when it comes to professions like in health and education sector, but there are various other fields where they are still struggling to get to the top regarding their respective jobs and salary hike. This was reported in a recent study conducted across 135 countries worldwide by the Global gender Gap Report released by the World Economic Forum [WEF], reported the Agence France-Presse {AFP} news agency.
Even in the nations which promoted equality in education and high level of economic integration among women, there was found gender gaps in senior positions, regarding leadership and wages. The study which covered 90 percent of the world’s population, focused on how different countries distributed resources and opportunities between women and men.

According to the study, it found that, the countries such as Iceland, Finland and Norway were the best of all the rest of other countries surveyed because, these nations achieved the top slots as they worked well towards closing the gap between men and women at workplace regarding the promotions, wages etc. But the worst nations turned out to be Central African nation Chad, Pakistan and Yemen.
