Ray Dalio
Dalio was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, United States to a jazz musician. At the age of 12 Dalio worked as a caddy at a golf club frequented by Wall Street types. Dalio was able to earn $6 a bag as a caddy, which he later invested to buy his first stock.

After finishing his education, Dalio worked on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and then went on to invest in commodity futures. He later worked as the Director of Commodities at Dominick & Dominick LLC in 1974. It was in 1975 where he founded the Westport, Connecticut based investment management firm’ Bridgewater’.

Time magazine named him one of the most influential people in the world in 2012. Forbes estimates that Dalio’s net worth is approximately $12.9 billion.
