Loeb grew up in Santa Monica, California and attended Palisades Charter High School. At the age of 12, started a skateboard company where in he would make boards for his friends.

Loeb attended the University of California at Berkeley for two years and graduated from Columbia University with an economics degree.

Loeb went on to work for few companies in his early career and even as director for some big firms. But he is famously known for being “financial savvy" and his withering criticism of corporate executives who are unfortunate enough to fall in his sights.

Dan Loeb’s Net worth is currently $1.5 billion. The founder and head of Third Point had a fabulous year in 2012. His flagship hedge fund beat the U.S. stock market, which most hedge funds failed to do, with a 21.2 percent net return. And his smaller leveraged fund was one of the best-performing hedge funds in 2012.
