'Employee Engagement High Among Indians'

A lot of employee tend to switch jobs very early during their tenure in a company. 64 percent employees in India intend to look for a job with another organisation within one year, the survey noted.

"This is due to the penetration of social media in the day to day lives of workers which also results in frequent job search on online communities," it said.

The survey said that social media has become a key way that employees find work and exchange information about jobs, with approximately 62 per cent using it for important career and employment decisions in the country.

"Social media offers an unprecedented opportunity for employees to engage in discussion about preferred places to work. The report clearly suggested that findings highlight the increasing role that social media is playing in the workplace, with a constant mixing of work-related and social exchanges.

"From an employer's perspective, it means they need to be mindful about the impact of social media activism on their brand and reputation," Karanth said.

The survey also highlighted that among the many reasons for an organisation to be an attractive employer in India include - salary, financial incentives, compensation and benefits at 26 percent, followed by work life.
