eBay, PayPal India 'Uploads' Fresh Engineering Graduates

“At PayPal, we tap into the bright minds of our young talent right from the start as we believe that innovation and free thinking play a pivotal role in our global success. At the same time, we believe in grooming them for success. Unlike others in the industry, our first-time employees are exposed to tough situations and real adversity during the boot camp – only to emerge wiser, stronger and more confident,” said Anupam Pahuja, General Manager, PayPal India Development Centers.

“We are thrilled to onboard this year’s fresh batch of new hires, who are being trained to work on global projects. Year on year, our fresh graduate hires have done exceptionally well in our internal global company-wide initiatives. Be it hack-a-thons, idea generation contests or innovation competitions, they have brought us top honors for India with their exemplary passion, energy and creativity,” added Mr. Pahuja.

PayPal India has also recruited more than 30 percent of its new hires this year from the group of graduates who had previously interned with the company. PayPal’s intensive internship programme has helped the organization springboard new employees into the company as they are already accustomed to its culture and are aware of the opportunities it provides, well before they accept the offer.
“One of the major challenges that any company faces with fresh graduates is quick assimilation into the way a company operates, including knowing its people, learning about its culture, and feeling accepted and becoming a part of the organization in a short span of time,” says Jayanthi Vaidyanathan, Director – Human Resources, PayPal India. “UPLOAD is one such programme to address this challenge as it not only acts as a platform for the recruits to bond quickly with their peers across countries, but also instills in them the feeling of being part of a larger global organization and reiterates the company’s interest in their long-term future.”

The graduates will undergo a rigorous four-week integrated learning programme after the first week of UPLOAD, which complements their transition from campus life to corporate career.
