Drop In Appraisals Lead To Increased Hiring In IT, Telecom
BANGALORE: The rate of employment in the information technology-telecom sphere has escalated by 2 percent in April 2015. The sector witnessed an unexpected decline in the appraisals to which the employees responded by searching for better job opportunities, reports ET.
Demand for talent in Information Technology-Telecom sector has dropped by 3 percent while the rate of hiring has surged owing to the fall in the appraisals. Demand for talented professionals in the industry reported an average increment of 5 percent in period from January to February this year. The demand for talent in the sector has gone up by a percent on an average every year.
Vivek Madhukar, COO, TimesJobs.com, said, "Indian IT majors have set the market mood with appraisals that were below expectations. IT professionals seem to be opting for better opportunities in ecommerce and product domains, leaving employers to bump up hiring to manage and rebuild the depleting talent pipeline,"
Professionals from Media and Entertainment sphere have experienced the highest increment in the demand with 5 percent for the month of April, 2015 whereas sectors of sales/business development, marketing and advertising and administration witnessed an average increment of 2-3 percent in talent demand. However the industry incurred a drop of 10 percent for April.
