Does Professional Course Fee Hike Affect the Common Man?
The recent report of the professional course fee hike poured in from “The Hindu” which said that the Karnataka government declared a 10 percent fee hike in undergraduate medical, dental, engineering and architecture courses. The annual fee for engineering college seats, offered under the government quota with a fee funding, was 35000 which will now be 38,500.Colleges that decide on to charging 1.25 lakh for the management quota, the CET seats will cost 33,000, an increase of 3,000 from last year.
Over the years engineering college fees had witnessed a constant hike. However, this year the fee for the government quota in medicine that had remained the same for the last five year had also increased from 35,000 to 38,500. Likewise, for dental colleges, the fee has increased from 25,000 to 27,500. Fees at private college that was 3.25 lakh, has also been hiked by 10 per cent.
