You might not know what is going wrong, but you do know that it’s time for you to visit the gastroenterologist for a checkup. These doctors specialize in the process that involves understanding the body's digestion. Also known as GI’s, they diagnose and treat some of the most uncomfortable and embarrassing of ailments. This makes it quite obvious that a GI's patients aren't always happy to see him. To top it all, the surprising part of this career is that it involves four years of medical education and training along with three years of residency and again two to four years of a fellowship to become full-fledged gastroenterologists. But what they get in the end is a handsome salary to go home with!
