Austrians workers effectively receive 22 working days of paid vacation, along with a mandatory 13 paid holidays a year. The Austrian Govt has great benefits for their employees. Workers with 25 years of work experience, or employees who work on tiring night shift jobs are entitled to take additional time off with the normal holidays. And employees who work on paid holidays must be compensated with a time off or pay double their daily wage. At just 4.5 percent Austria tops the list with the lowest unemployment rate than any other country in the euro zone. The success behind Austria low unemployment rate is its long-lasting apprenticeship program that helps country’s young employees to find employment for much of Austria. But off late the popularity of this program has taken a beating and is fading away.
