Skill Development of Faculty
It is no secret that the quality of teachers in most of the not-so renowned colleges is sub-standard and the curriculum has hampered the further growth in education. Due to lack of skilled teachers, quality of teaching staff in colleges across the country is below 25 percent and many faculty positions are vacant in universities.
To counter this situation, the quality of teachers in higher education, educational institutes that spend on faculty training and development should receive a 50 percent tax rebate. The Government should also set up grants for faculty training programs that can be received by educational institutions.
Setting up the National Higher Education Finance Corporation
Presently there is little or no regulations measures deployed on the fee structures of private higher educational institutes. In the upcoming budget the Government plans to set up a National Higher Education Finance Corporation in order to rationalize fees across educational institutions in the country.
By setting up NHEFC the entire process is set to break the tradition in education by providing loans at lower rates of interest and help in establishment of higher education institutions in backward areas.
