Brainteasers: Good Hiring Criteria?
Bangalore: “How many traffic lights are there in your city?” Why such a weird question? You might wonder if your hiring manager has gone mad? Many of you could be facing such questions in interviews. Questions like this have become trendy tricks in interview. Having a good college transcripts and high IQ levels cannot fetch your dream job. Since companies turn to quick actions to maintain their trade name, they want people who are promptly able to step forward. Today, most of the A-list tech companies are giving brainteasers test for interviewees. Companies like Google, Microsoft and eBay look for candidates who can think out of box.
Hiring an employee is an action of expanding the company in all levels. You should be careful when your turns come. You will be evaluated within few minutes of discussion. As interview being a headlock for most of the interviewees, it cannot be ensured that the best one was chosen.
In the mid-1990s, it was Microsoft who was on the headlines for including brainteasers in employability tests. Soon after, other companies started adopting this trend. Though every company has its own recruitment style, this ‘riddle’ job interview questions are to stay here, at least for the time being. Many of today’s hiring managers believe that using real-world situations in interview will help them out to hire a great employee.
