In one of her article in CareerBuilder.com, Debra Auerbach suggests 5 ways to feel appreciated in workplace.

Understand your company culture:

When you feel you are not inspired to do your work, and when you feel you are not appreciated the effort you put into your day-to-day tasks, you should try to figure out how your company treats your co-worker. Also if your company meets a recession time, you should show up how valued you are. Perhaps that will be the best choice you can make right now. Show your good attitude towards your organization and to your work. Staying late and reaching little early than the usual work time can be accounted. It is better to achieve appreciation through a pleasing approach than non- confrontational.
