Are you fired! Avoid saying it

2. Your interest changed:  Say confidently to the hiring lead that you have been handling quite interesting projects in your previous company, but slowly your interest shifted from the work that you were doing. Inform him that you felt that opportunities were limited in that company for your present area of interest. And therefore a job consultant friend of yours has advised you to look for a different opening.

3. It was no more a great fit for you:   Cautiously draw the recruiter’s attention to the fact that you specialize in a particular field and is quite experienced in it. However with the passage of time you felt that your previous company is moving in a different direction and is giving no more emphasis on your mastered field and wants you to focus in a totally different task, in which you have very less knowledge. Therefore you opted for a job switch.
