Are Americans Workaholics?
Some of the important facts reported in the “Workalolism in America” by Site Administrator showed that about 85.8 percent of the male employees are been working for more than 40 hours per week and about 66.5 percent of female workers worked more than 40 hours a week. It is a clear example to show that from the year 1970 till 2006 the average number of working hours in the country has increased rapidly and as we are in the year 2012 the working hours might have doubled when compared to 2006. Heavy working hours has affected the employees when it comes to their personal life because the report also showed that around 70 percent of the American children live in their households throughout the day whereas all the adults in their family are employed. This percentage can affect in a bad way as the children will spend very less time with their parents and that can result in family problems. The list of the problems cannot wind up as easily as it also includes marriage breakups. About one in every two workaholics’ married life ends up with divorce as the couple has very less time to get to know each other.
