Adobe Strengthens Family Benefits Policy for Indian Employees
NEW DELHI: Adobe India announced enhanced family benefits policy for its employees, where in there would be 26 weeks of paid maternity leave and 2 weeks of paid paternity leave.
Under Adobe's new India leave programmes, effective immediately, there would be 26 weeks of paid maternity leave for the birth or adoption of a child, (previously 12 weeks), while fathers would get two weeks of paid off (previously one week).
"We are taking progressive steps to increase the financial benefits specific to the birth of a child or adoption of a child," Adobe senior vice president, People & Places, Donna Morris said, adding that the move is aimed at supporting Adobe India's staff during the birth or adoption of a child.
"We especially hope this move will make it easier for our female employees to stay in the workforce after they have children, and we hope other employers will make similar investments in their employees," Morris said.
Adobe began operations in India in 1997. It has nearly 4,000 employees based in the country.
In India, women represent 22 per cent of Adobe's current workforce, while globally the figure stands at 28 per cent.
