The reason many give for this is, they feel it defensive to accept the negative feedback, even if there are chances of turning it into a positive feedback in the future by re-working on it.

Joseph Grenny, Co-Author of the New York Times best-seller “Influencer and Change Anything”, said that, if an employee cannot accept the failure, he or she will not be able to innovate anything in future, and if you also can’t accept the criticisms by others, it is you who is running away from that, as it is an essential thing to accept for moving on in your career life.
Apart from that, a study was also conducted by Leadership IQ and it had found that, around 26 percent of the new employees failed within 18 months of their hire and the only reason for this was because they were not ready to accept any sought of feedback.
