Upskilling & Career Development, the Key Trends in Workforce Retention in India
New Delhi: Global workforce solutions leader, Kelly Services, launched its Kelly Global Workforce Index (KGWI) - Career Development and Upskilling. This study aims to provide a canvas to a wide spectrum of opinions on issues impacting the contemporary workplace, with a particular focus on the perspectives from different generations, industries, occupations and skill sets.
Two-thirds of respondents in the Asia Pacific region, with India standing at prominent 70 percent, say that their main motivation for undertaking training is for the opportunity of a promotion with their current employer rather than leaving the organisation to work with a different employer or start their own business.
“Employers are today challenged to have long term development plans as average employee tenures have reduced and skills required for organisation needs are changing rapidly leading to short term development focus” said Kamal Karanth, Managing Director Kelly Services India.
